ML Executives is pleased to have started supporting this year’s live music festival season by supplying a complete audio solution to Music First Festival. The festival took place over the late May bank holiday weekend.
Taking place on The Oval, Hastings, the debut year of this festival saw a near sell-out crowd enjoying the bank holiday sunshine. They were treated to performances from artists including The Brand New Heavies, UB40, Go West and Alexander O’Neal.
ML Executives supplied a complete audio solution to the festival site which covered two stages. The second stage saw artists performing DJ sets including Chad Jackson, Shades of Rhythm, Fabio, Matt Jam Lamont and Adamski.
The second stage audio system was centered around a Yamaha QL1 console and an L-Acoustics loudspeaker system powered by L-Acoustics LA12X amplifiers. The loudspeaker system comprised eight dV-DOSC elements, four dV-SUBs and four SB28’s. In addition L-Acoustics ARCS were used to cover the extreme edges of the tent.
On the main stage the L-Acoustics loudspeaker system comprised 16 V-DOSC, 16 SB28, six ARCS and six dV-DOSC. These were all powered by Lab.Gruppen amplification and processed using Lake technology. On stage monitoring was also made up from the company’s stock of L-Acoustics loudspeakers and included 115FM wedge monitors, dV-SUB drum subs and ARCS/SB28 side-fills. These were also powered by Lab.Gruppen amplification with processing by XTA.
The front of house audio console was an Avid Profile, while the monitor console was a Yamaha PM5D. This is a well-tried and tested combination of desks that allows for quick turnarounds between acts and is almost universally accepted on artists riders.
Wireless systems were provided and coordinated by ML Executives and included microphones from Shure and in ear monitors from Sennheiser.
ML Executives also supplied a complete complement of DJ equipment to artists specifications across both stages including Pioneer CDJ2000 NXS2, DJM2000 NXS, DJM900 NXS2, Technics SL1210’s and Rane Serato SL4 kits.
